SPECIAL EVENT • Weekend • Moon Jars
Please get in touch to sign up to our next workshop
The moon jar is deeply rooted in Korean culture and ceramic lore – as both a ceremonial and a functional vessel, more often for storing rice. Yet it has transcended both its geography and humble beginnings to become revered and revisited across the world for the beauty and purity of its form, for its deceptive simplicity – and for its soft, white surface calling in visions of the full moon.
Traditionally thrown in two halves, our weekend at the studio will echo this notion over two half days – using traditional hand-building practices, rendering this highly complex form available even to those who have never worked with clay before.
