Clay Retreat • Slow Forms • Moon Jars

£180.00

A day for slowing, shaping and grounding.

Our Slow Forms Clay Retreat series is a gentle invitation to step out of the everyday and into a quieter rhythm, centred around my own clay practice. Each retreat offers a full day held in the studio — a space to slow down, work with your hands, and explore clay with intention and depth.

In Slow Forms: Moon Jars, we turn our attention to the soft beauty of these vessels, so full of balance, breath and time.

The moon jar is deeply rooted in Korean culture and ceramic lore, serving as both a ceremonial and a highly functional vessel throughout history. Over time, it has transcended its geographic origins and humble beginnings to become widely revered and continuously revisited by ceramicists around the world.

With as much support and guidance as you need, you’ll learn to form and refine your own moon jar. We will be using traditional hand-building techniques so as to render this complex form available even to those who have never worked with clay before.

  • Our retreat day together runs from 10AM until 4PM

  • We pause to eat at 1PM (please bring lunch)
