Open Clay is a relaxed, hand-building session to give you a sense of working with this beautiful, theraputic material.
We offer this session on a “pay per clay” basis to keep it as affordable and accessible as possible. Your ticket includes a set volume of clay to work with (around 0.5lb) and put forward for firing (enough to make something around the size of a small coffee cup or bowl OR two smaller things).
Each session is themed so you can either follow along with us and learn to create a piece for your home or daily rituals (such as a little coffee cup, a candlestick, an incense holder) ––– or let the clay and your own imagination lead you.
Your ticket includes your clay plus glazing and firing for UP TO TWO pieces. We glaze all work created in Open Clay in a transparent glaze so your final piece will appear a warm, earthy brown. Your work will be ready to collect around a month later. Or, we highly recommend adding-on a glazing session so you can return to glaze your work yourself and bring it to life with colour and surface.
