Studio Sessions • By–Hand (Practice Slot)
Studio Sessions are pay–as–you go practice slots offering you a peaceful space in which you can play, explore and unfold your clay practice without the restrictions of a membership.
Offered to those who are entirely self-sufficient and can work without guidance.
Whilst there will always be someone at the studio whilst you are working, and you will never be left alone, Studio Sessions are not classes and there will be no teacher present to support you.
Fees and what's included –––
Studio Sessions are £40 per 2.5 hour session. This flat fee includes as much clay as you need for your session (a toasted brown or white stoneware, depending on availability), use of house glazes should you wish to use them, and a shelf area in the studio for storing work in progress.
Firing costs –––
We always encourage anyone using the studio to be critical of their work and only fire work you truly want. Any work you put forward for firing will be weighed at greenware before going into the bisque at 1.5p/gram.
Should I book a Throwing or By–Hand slot?
Due to limited wheels and maintaining an intimate workspace, should you need to use the wheel at all during your session (even if you won’t be using it the entire time) then please book a Throwing slot. If you are working exclusively on the tables with no need of the wheel, then please book a By–Hand slot.
